IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn Held New York City Rikers Island Prison 911 tapes indicate Murdough was already in rigor mortis when his body was discovered in his cell.

NEW YORK (AP) — A doctor told a 911 dispatcher that a mentally ill inmate found in a 101-degree New York City jail cell was already in rigor mortis when he was discovered.

The 911 tape from Feb. 15 shows emergency workers performed CPR on Jerome Murdough for 20 minutes before stopping.

The 56-year-old former Marine was pronounced dead about 35 minutes after he was discovered.

Murdough family attorney Derek Sells provided the 911 tape to The Associated Press on Tuesday. He’s planning a $25 million wrongful death lawsuit.

A spokesman for the Law Department says city lawyers will review the lawsuit when it’s filed.

Bronx prosecutors are investigating. A spokesman for the Department of Correction said he couldn’t comment on pending litigation.
